1 Description American Traveler seeks a Certified Surgical Technologist for an Operating Room position requiring CST or TS-C certification and BLS certification. Details Surgery unit setting within a hospital operating room Variable shift schedule from 7:00 AM to 7:00 PM 13-week contract assignment Requirements High school diploma or GED required Associate's or technical degree preferred Scrub technician experience preferred Operating room experience and/or training course preferred CST certification or TS-C (NCCT) certification required NBSTSA or AST certification required BLS certification required CNA certification preferred Minimum of 3 years of OR experience required Recent experience within the specialty required within the last 3 months Active, unrestricted license required in the state of submission, if applicable Additional Information Prepare for each surgical case by checking required supplies and equipment prior to the procedure Assemble supplies and equipment and set up the sterile field for operative procedures Complete instrument, sponge, needle, and blade counts with the RN according to established standards Maintain a neat and orderly sterile field with careful attention to aseptic technique Label solutions according to established standards Clean equipment and perform housekeeping duties as needed Transport patients according to unit schedules and priorities Perform clerical duties as assigned Vaccination compliance required per organizational policy, with medical and religious exemptions considered Candidates with more than 5 days of requested time off will not be considered Candidates with a prior adverse licensure action will not be considered Local candidates accepted with no radius rule, as local rates match travel rates
