Job Description

Operating Room Technician (OR Tech) /
Surgical Technologist Job Summary:
Assists the surgical team before, during, and after operative procedures by preparing the operating room, maintaining a sterile environment, handling surgical instruments, and ensuring the availability of necessary equipment and supplies. Promotes patient safety and supports efficient surgical care in accordance with established clinical and regulatory standards.
Requirements:
High School Diploma or equivalent required. Graduate of an accredited Surgical Technology program preferred. Current Certified Surgical Technologist (CST) certification preferred or required per facility policy. Current BLS certification required. Recent Operating Room/Surgical Technologist experience preferred.
Responsibilities:
Prepare operating rooms with instruments, equipment, and sterile supplies. Maintain sterile technique and assist with surgical procedures. Pass instruments and supplies to the surgeon during procedures. Perform surgical counts and ensure instrument accountability. Prepare, clean, and restock operating rooms following procedures. Operate and maintain surgical equipment safely. Adhere to infection control, patient safety, and regulatory standards. Collaborate with surgeons, nurses, and anesthesia staff to support quality patient care. Perform other duties as assigned. #Workwolf
