Job Description
AAH01 Overview Join our dynamic healthcare team as a Certified Surgical Technician, where your expertise will directly support surgical procedures and patient care in a fast-paced clinical environment. You will play a vital role in preparing operating rooms, assisting surgeons during procedures, and ensuring the highest standards of safety and efficiency. Responsibilities Prepare operating rooms by sterilizing instruments, arranging supplies, and ensuring all equipment is functioning properly for upcoming surgeries. Assist surgical teams by passing instruments, sutures, and other sterile supplies during procedures with precision and care. Monitor patient condition reports during surgery, ensuring all vital signs are accurately recorded and communicated to the team. Manage medical documentation efficiently using Electronic Health Records (EHR) systems to ensure accurate recording of surgical details and patient information. Support various specialties including plastic surgery, diagnostic radiology, and acute care procedures by understanding specific procedural requirements. Handle blood sampling, specimen collection, and basic life support (BLS) protocols when necessary to maintain patient safety. Maintain strict adherence to infection control standards, manual handling protocols, and safety guidelines throughout all surgical activities. Skills Proven experience in critical care settings or acute care environments with a focus on surgical assistance. Strong knowledge of medical terminology, nursing practices, and medical documentation standards. Skilled in patient service with excellent client communication abilities to reassure patients before procedures. Proficiency in EMR/EHR management for accurate data entry and record keeping. Ability to perform manual handling tasks safely while managing surgical instruments and equipment.

Required Certifications & Licensure:
One of the following is required: Certified through the NBSTSA as a Certified Surgical Technician (CST)Certified through the NCCT as a Tech in Surgery - Certified (TS-C) Certification in Basic Life Support (BLS) is required; additional certifications in blood sampling or diagnostic radiology are advantageous.
