1 Description American Traveler is seeking a Surgical Technologist for a hospital surgery unit requiring BLS certification and a minimum of one year of relevant experience. Details Hospital surgery department (MMCI - Surgery) setting Day shift schedule, Monday-Friday 7:00am-5:30pm plus rotating call 40 hours per week across 4 days, 10-hour shifts Weekend and holiday shifts on a rotating basis May float to other Carle Health facilities including Methodist Hospital, Young Minds, Pekin Hospital, and Proctor Hospital Assists surgeons with operative and invasive procedures across a variety of surgical specialties EPIC charting system used Requirements Associate's degree in Surgical Technology or Certificate of completion from a Surgical Technology program BLS certification from the American Heart Association IDPH Fingerprinting required Minimum of 1 year of relevant experience EPIC charting experience required License required if applicable Fluent in reading, writing, and speaking English Basic computer knowledge including word processing, spreadsheets, email, and web browsers Strong multicultural sensitivity and critical thinking skills Additional Information Serves as a resource to other technologists and provides informal lead technologist support as needed Trains new technologists and students in surgical technology practices Prepares timely, accurate, and efficient setups for surgeon-specific operative and invasive procedures Scrubs in on procedures ranging from simple to complex across multiple specialties Anticipates and responds to expected and unexpected intra-operative events RTO not to exceed 7 total days per 13-week contract Radius rule of 50 miles applies; local candidates are not accepted Contingent workers may not remain continuously on assignment for more than 1 year at this health system without a 6-month break in service before returning
