1 Description American Traveler seeks a Certified Surgical Technologist for a hospital Labor & Delivery surgical unit position requiring NBSTSA or NCCT certification and BLS. Details Hospital-based Labor & Delivery surgical unit Day shift schedule, Monday through Friday 7:00 AM to 5:30 PM, with occasional 6:30 AM starts for robotic cases 10-hour shifts, 4 days per week, 40 hours weekly Weekend and holiday shifts on a rotating basis May float to other affiliated hospitals within the health system On-call availability required outside scheduled hours, including after-hours, weekends, and holidays Uses
EPIC EMR
for charting May occasionally require travel to other affiliated facilities Requirements Completion of a Surgical Technology training program through an accredited institution, college, or military program National Certified Surgical Technologist credential through NBSTSA or
NCCT BLS
certification required License required if applicable EPIC charting experience required Minimum of 1 year of relevant experience Additional Information Assist surgeons and perform operative and invasive procedures across a variety of surgical specialties Set up sterile fields and ensure instruments, equipment, and supplies are complete and functional prior to procedures Serve as a resource and informal lead to other surgical technologists, including precepting and mentoring new staff and RNs Demonstrate strong critical thinking skills to anticipate case needs and respond to intra-operative changes Perform in first scrub, first assist, second scrub, and second circulator roles as needed Complete case closing activities including dressing application and patient transfer Maintain patient privacy and uphold professional conduct in the operating room RTO not to exceed 7 total days per 13-week contract Radius rule requires candidates to live at least 50 miles from the facility; local candidates not accepted Contingent workers may not be on continuous assignment for more than 1 year at this health system without a 6-month break before returning
