Hours/Week On-Call Requirement:
7 call days every 6 weeks, including 3 weekend call days Job Summary Facility is seeking an experienced Certified Surgical Technologist (CST) for a 13-week travel assignment. The Surgical Technologist plays a vital role in the operating room by preparing and maintaining sterile surgical environments, handling surgical instruments, and assisting surgeons throughout operative procedures. The ideal candidate will have recent experience supporting Orthopedic, Cesarean Section (C-Section), General Surgery, and ENT procedures in an acute care hospital. This position requires strong knowledge of aseptic technique, surgical instrumentation, patient safety, and the ability to respond effectively in fast-paced and emergency surgical settings. Key Responsibilities Prepare operating rooms with appropriate sterile instruments, equipment, and supplies for scheduled procedures. Establish and maintain a sterile surgical field using strict aseptic technique. Assist surgeons, anesthesiologists, and the surgical team during operative procedures by anticipating instrumentation and equipment needs. Perform sponge, sharps, and instrument counts according to hospital policy to ensure patient safety. Prepare, inspect, and maintain surgical instruments and specialty equipment before, during, and after procedures. Provide intraoperative support for Orthopedic, C-Section, General Surgery, and ENT procedures. Identify and respond quickly to urgent and emergency situations in the operating room. Assist with patient positioning, preparation, and safe transfer while maintaining patient dignity and safety. Clean, sterilize, and organize surgical instruments according to infection prevention standards. Maintain accurate documentation and comply with hospital policies, regulatory standards, and patient safety initiatives. Collaborate effectively with surgeons, registered nurses, anesthesia providers, and other perioperative staff to ensure optimal surgical outcomes. Required Qualifications Minimum 2 years of recent Surgical Technologist experience in an acute care hospital. High School Diploma or GED. Current Certified Surgical Technologist (CST) certification. Current BLS Certification .
Recent experience in:
Orthopedic Surgery General Surgery ENT Surgery Cesarean Section (C-Section) Strong knowledge of aseptic technique, sterile processing, surgical instrumentation, and operating room procedures. Excellent communication, teamwork, organizational, and critical thinking skills. Preferred Qualifications Previous travel assignment experience. Experience with a wide variety of surgical specialties in a fast-paced operating room. Familiarity with emergency and trauma surgical procedures. Pay:
$30.00•$32.00 per hour Application Question(s): Minimum 2 years of recent Surgical Technologist experience in an acute care hospital. High School Diploma or GED. Current Certified Surgical Technologist (CST) certification. Current BLS Certification through AHA.
Recent experience in:
Orthopedic Surgery, General Surgery, ENT Surgery and Cesarean Section (C-Section) Previous travel assignment experience preferred. Are you comfortable working the 6:30 AM•5:00 PM shift;
Schedule:
4 x 10-hour shifts (40 hours/week)? Are you able to work onsite in Madison, IN 47250? Are you available for a 3-5 month contract assignment with the possibility of extension? Are you comfortable with the pay rate of $30•32 an hour? Do you have experience using the Epic EMR system? Are you authorized to work in the United States for any employer? Are you applying as a Local candidate or a Traveler? If applying as a traveler, do you currently reside more than 75 miles from the facility? (Travel package eligibility applies.)
