1 Description American Traveler is seeking an experienced CVOR Surgical Tech with heart and lung transplant experience for a hospital-based CVOR position working day shifts on a 4x10 schedule. Details Hospital CVOR setting with access to General OR, Hybrid OR, and Trauma environments Day shift schedule, 4x10 hours (6:30 AM - 5:00 PM) Patient population includes cardiovascular, vascular, transplant (heart and lung), thoracic, gynecologic, orthopedic, urologic, and general surgery cases Cardiovascular procedures include CABG, mitral valve replacement, atrial septal defect repair, pericardial window, VAD, and TAVR Transplant cases include heart and lung Vascular procedures include AAA repair, carotid endarterectomy, femoral popliteal bypass graft, EVAR, and TEVAR Robotic surgery cases performed across multiple specialties, including cardiothoracic, gynecologic, GI, and orthopedic (preferred) Floating within the hospital or to an affiliate hospital nearby may be required Requirements Minimum of 2 years of CVOR surgical tech experience required Heart and lung transplant experience required Trauma Level II experience required; Trauma Level I experience preferred BLS certification required KY state or compact license required if applicable Proficiency in cardiovascular procedures including CABG, valve replacements, and transplants Skills checklist required for consideration At least 2 supervisor references from within the last 3 years required for consideration First-time travelers will be considered Additional Information Perform scrub duties including instrument and sponge counts, sterile field preparation, patient draping, and specimen handling Apply aseptic technique, universal protocol (time out), isolation precautions, laser safety, radiation safety, and sharps safety standards Operate and care for endoscopic, fiber optic, electrosurgical, and robotic equipment Process and sterilize instruments per established disinfection and sterilization protocols All requested time off must be disclosed at time of consideration; any RTO requested after submission will not be approved Candidates whose permanent residence is within 100 miles of the facility are not eligible for this position Former permanent staff must have been separated from all affiliated facilities for at least 6 months before returning as a traveler Candidates who have previously worked at this facility should be prepared to disclose that history, as rehire eligibility will be verified
