Summary Job Description:
Certified Surgical Tech Full-Time
M-F 11-19
30 Call 1 night/week and every 4th weekend The Surgical Technologist serves as a primary scrub person or assistant for operative procedures.
Job Duties:
Scrubbing into cases and make sure instruments and supplies are available for the scheduled case. Setting up cases ensuring that all instruments are thoroughly sterilized and maintain the sterile field during case set up. May be asked to assist physician to cut suture material and may be asked to apply electrocautery to clamps on bleeders under the direct supervision of the surgeon. Is responsible for gross decontamination of instruments including breaking down instruments for further cleaning in Central Sterile Processing. Collaborates with the circulating nurse to carry out appropriate interventions.
Requirements:
Technical Diploma from a Surgical Technologist accredited program or comparable military training Certified Surgical Tech (CST) certification is required Eligibility for
