$3,000 Gross (40 hours) Position Summary We are seeking an experienced CVOR Certified Surgical Technologist (CST) to support cardiovascular surgical procedures in a fast-paced operating room environment. The CST will work closely with surgeons, nurses, and anesthesia staff to ensure safe, efficient, and sterile surgical procedures, with a focus on open-heart and vascular cases. Key Responsibilities Prepare and maintain sterile fields for cardiovascular surgical procedures Assist surgeons during procedures by passing instruments and supplies Anticipate surgical needs, particularly in complex CVOR cases Handle surgical instruments, equipment, and supplies with precision Perform sponge, needle, and instrument counts according to policy Ensure proper functioning of CVOR equipment (e.g., heart-lung machines, specialized instrumentation as applicable) Maintain strict adherence to infection control and safety standards Collaborate effectively with the surgical team to ensure optimal patient outcomes Required Certifications & Licensure Certified Surgical Technologist (CST)
- Required (NBSTSA or NCCT) BLS (Basic Life Support)
- Required (AHA) State Licensure (if applicable in MA)
- Not required for CSTs in Massachusetts, but must meet hospital credentialing standards Qualifications & Requirements Minimum 2+ years of recent CVOR experience required Demonstrated experience assisting in cardiovascular and open-heart procedures Strong knowledge of surgical instrumentation and sterile techniques Ability to work efficiently in high-acuity, fast-paced environments Excellent communication and teamwork skills Must be able to stand for extended periods and lift/move equipment as needed Preferred Qualifications Experience with major cardiac cases (CABG, valve replacement, etc.
) Travel experience preferred Familiarity with advanced CVOR technologies and procedures #
