Job Description
Surgical Technologist, Full Time (40 hours a week- 4 10 hour shifts) Surgical Technologist needed for this bustling ENT and Plastics Ambulatory Surgical Center in Annapolis MD. Qualifications Graduate from an accredited surgical technologist program. (Required) Must have completed a minimum of 125 surgical procedures in the role as first scrub. Or minimum 1 year experience with a strong supervisory reference. (Required) Must have working knowledge and experience with ENT procedures specifically. Sterile Processing experience (Preferred) American Heart Association HealthCare Provider BLS Responsibilities This position provides direct patient care. Will need to demonstrate basic patient care concepts, surgical asepsis and basic surgical case preparation. Maintains a safe environment for the patient and the O.R. team by assuring a sterile environment, using equipment properly. Provides patient care during the intra-operative phase of the surgery using physician preference cards and organizing and prioritizing care activities based on the patient and/or environmental changes. Functions as a first scrub in ENT, Oral surgery, General Head and Neck, and Facial Plastics surgical procedures. Responsible for proper care of instrumentation including decontamination, cleaning and sterilization of surgical equipment. Performs the following surgical skills independently: Opening surgical supplies, gowning, and gloving all members of the surgical team, basic positioning of the patient, between case cleaning, terminal cleaning of the ORs and surgical suite, performs circulating skills and general center tasks as directed. Will be required to work independently in Sterile Processing.
