Job Overview We are seeking an experienced Surgical Technologist (OR Tech) to join a busy Operating Room team. The Surgical Tech will assist surgeons and the perioperative team by preparing the operating room, maintaining sterile technique, handling surgical instruments, and ensuring a safe environment throughout surgical procedures. Required Qualifications High School Diploma or GED BLS (AHA) Certification Certified Surgical Technologist (CST) or National Certification preferred Required Skills Operating Room scrubbing experience Sterile field management Aseptic technique Sterilization processes and instrument handling Sterile processing knowledge Surgical instrumentation and case cart preparation Environmental safety practices Roles & Responsibilities Prepare operating rooms, instruments, supplies, and equipment before surgical procedures Maintain sterile technique and ensure the integrity of the sterile field throughout surgery Pass instruments, sutures, and supplies to surgeons during procedures Perform sponge, needle, blade, and instrument counts according to policy Prepare and organize case carts based on physician preference cards Handle surgical specimens for laboratory analysis Assist with sterilization and sterile processing when needed Support patient safety by following sharps, fire, and infection prevention protocols Assist with room turnover, cleaning, restocking, and preparation for subsequent procedures Identify and respond appropriately to emergency situations within the Operating Room Float to other departments within scope of practice as needed AL01
