Position Overview Glendive Medical Center is seeking a Surgical Environment Service Technician to maintain a clean, safe, and organized environment within Surgical Services and Outpatient Infusion. This role is responsible for cleaning, sanitizing, stocking supplies, and supporting infection prevention standards to ensure quality patient care. Essential Responsibilities Clean and sanitize surgical and outpatient areas according to established housekeeping, infection control, and AORN standards. Dust, mop, and disinfect floors and surfaces. Empty trash and properly dispose of hazardous materials, including sharps and chemotherapy waste. Clean and polish sinks, mirrors, wheelchairs, x-ray vests, stainless steel surfaces, windows, and other equipment. Restock tissue, soap, towels, and other supplies. Order, organize, and maintain cleaning supplies. Arrange equipment and furniture as needed. Perform area-specific cleaning tasks according to departmental guidelines. Preform additional duties as assigned Qualifications High school diploma or equivalent required. Ability to read, write, follow instructions, and maintain accurate records. Strong organizational skills and attention to detail. Ability to work effectively with staff throughout the organization. Physical Requirements Lift up to 50 pounds and stand or walk for extended periods. Full range of motion with manual dexterity and hand-eye coordination. Vision and hearing corrected within normal range. Ability to work in a healthcare environment with potential exposure to communicable diseases, body fluids, hazardous substances, radiation, and medicinal preparations. Work Environment This position works in a healthcare environment and may be exposed to: Communicable diseases and body fluids. Hazardous cleaning agents and toxic substances. Ionizing radiation. Pharmaceutical and medicinal preparations. Appropriate training and personal protective equipment will be provided.
