About Northern Montana Hospital Northern Montana Hospital (NMH) is the center of a comprehensive system of medical and health care services, staffed with a team of caring professionals who are dedicated to meeting the growing needs of our Hi-Line communities. The not-for-profit, 25-bed Critical Access Hospital features a 24-hour physician-staffed emergency department, with state-of-the-art diagnostic imaging and electronic medical record services. Our large, quiet labor/birthing rooms are private and located away from other patient care areas. The private patient rooms on the 5th floor Medical/Surgical Department boast views from every window. Administration, staff, and medical providers are committed to delivering high quality, comprehensive health care services to the people of the Hi-Line communities of Montana. Specialties of our active staff of doctors include Anesthesiology, Emergency Medicine, Family Medicine, General Surgery, Hematology, Internal Medicine, OB/GYN, Oncology, Ophthalmology, Optometry, Orthopedic Surgery and Sports Medicine, Pain Management, Pathology, Podiatry, Psychiatry, Psychology, Radiology and Women's Health. For the convenience of our patients, we also host visiting physicians at our clinics in the areas of: Cardiology Neurology Pediatric Pulmonology Urology Radiation Oncology Nephrology Endocrinology Optometry About the role $5,000 Discretionary Sign-On Bonus Under the guidance of the Registered Nurse, the Surgical Technician is responsible for the care and safety of the patient during the surgical procedures, provides technical assistance in the Operating Room; has knowledge relative to the ages of the patients served. Essential job functions include preparing the room with the nursing staff for the surgical procedure, in a timely and organized manner; correctly practices the principles of asepsis; cleans, disinfects, and sterilizes all equipment in the OR, and Endoscopic Lab; coordinates care of the patient with the RN Circulator; stocks and replaces CS items, prepares CS inventory sheet; maintains a sterile field during surgical procedures; assists the physician during surgical procedures, and has correct instrumentation organized and available; Follows verbal physician orders in the operating suite; handles surgical specimens; compiles the necessary equipment on the surgical field; timely documents unusual occurrence reports, and other departmental forms as required; performs CPR as needed; correctly and proficiently uses all applicable instruments and equipment; cleans and wraps instruments for sterilization; transports patient to and from the OR; monitors surgical equipment, maintenance and repairs; completes duties as technical scrub in OR; prepares room and equipment for Endoscopy procedures; must maintain a cooperative disposition, within the OR room; other duties as required. Qualifications High School Diplomas or equivalent. Current CST Certification required. Current Basic Life Support (BLS) Certification. One-year perioperative services experience preferred. Must be able to make sound judgement. Ability to successfully pass Background Check and Drug Screen. Starting pay range varies based on experience up to 10 years.
