Surgical Technician OBOR/Labor and Delivery Cone Health United States, North Carolina, Greensboro Aug 13, 2026 The Surgical Technologist assists the team of medical professionals providing surgical care to patients under the direct supervision of the Registered Nurse (RN) by verifying health data and observing the patient. Working under general supervision, this role performs first and second scrub duties and may complete table setup for more advanced procedures. Essential Job Function Ensures that sterile equipment is not brought in contact with unsterile items or surfaces so that asepsis is maintained. Observes and reports on patient health changes in order to adapt the care plan as necessary. Completes the basic scrub duties and table set-ups for procedures to provide a sterile and prepared environment for surgery. Gathers supplies and checks equipment to ensure that the necessary materials are prepared for surgery. Verifies health status data for patients with the circulating nurse in order to keep a detailed record of a patient's condition. Performs other duties as assigned.
Education Required:
High School diploma or equivalent; Graduate of a School of Surgical Technology or equivalent military training with surgical technologist experience
Experience Licensure/Certification/Listing Required:
BLS (CPR)-
American Red Cross or AHA Healthcare ProviderPreferred:
Certified Surgical Technologist
