Job Description

Category Nursing - ORT Job Type Contract Skilled surgical technologists and operating room technicians are needed for a critical contract opportunity offering a structured 10-hour day shift. The schedule is Monday through Friday, 6:30 AM to 5:00 PM, with consistent 40-hour workweeks. Candidates will rotate on-call duties, including some weekend and holiday coverage, with 4-5 weekday or potential weekend call requirements per pay period.
Key Qualifications:
Current certification as a Surgical Technologist (CST) or relevant ORT credentials Minimum 18 months of recent experience in an acute care OR setting Strong background in general Med/Tele, including cardiac rhythm interpretation, stroke care, and medication drip management (cardiac, heparin, blood products) Proficient with trach care, PIV starts, chest tube management, tube/drain care (NGT, PEG, Hemovac, JP, Foley), and PCA pumps BLS and ACLS certifications required; NIHSS preferred Experience with EPIC EMR and Alaris IV pumps is desirable Ability to float to other units/facilities within designated region as needed
Primary Responsibilities:
Prepare and maintain the sterile field for surgical procedures Anticipate surgeon's needs, provide instruments and supplies promptly Collaborate with the interdisciplinary team to deliver optimal patient care Document intraoperative activities and maintain accurate records in EMR Respond efficiently to on-call, holiday, and weekend duties as scheduled Support and orientate within various units if floated per assignment
