Job Summary and Responsibilities As a National Internal Traveler Surgical Technician, you will perform technical duties that support the plan of care developed and implemented for the surgical patient.

Every day, you will contribute to the department goals through the provision of quality services. This involves meticulous preparation of the operating room, skilled assistance during surgical procedures, and diligent management of instruments and equipment, all while adapting to various surgical environments across the nation to ensure seamless, high-quality patient care.

To be successful in your role, you will meticulously perform technical duties supporting the plan of care for surgical patients in various national settings, consistently providing high-quality services. You will demonstrate exceptional technical proficiency in surgical assistance, adaptability to diverse departmental needs, and an unwavering commitment to patient safety and operational efficiency, thereby directly contributing to departmental goals and positive surgical outcomes across the organization. Performs surgical technology tasks and functions that are performed with other members of the surgical team that includes: Prepares the operating room for surgical procedures by ensuring the equipment is functioning properly and safely; Prepares the operating room and the sterile field for surgical procedures by preparing sterile supplies, instruments and equipment using sterile techniques; Demonstrates knowledge of human anatomy and pathophysiology and how it relates to the patient and surgical procedure; Performs tasks in the sterile field. Performs in the role of scrub nurse according to the plan of patient care and departmental staffing needs. Performs duties according to department specific expectations as identified and assigned. Assists with patient care activities under the direct supervision of the Registered Nurse. Anticipates usual and unexpected events during the surgical procedure and responds in an efficient manner. Adheres to aseptic practices providing and maintaining a safe environment. Job Requirements Required Other Completion of an accredited Surgical Technology program or or completion of on the job training as a scrub tech, or Other Completion of an accredited medical personnel program such as but not limited to
CNA, MA, LPN, EMT I
/ II, or 4-6 years Minimum of 5 years' experience or SPD tech who are willing to do on the job training with a structured competency regimen., and Basic Life Support - (BLS) Provided by AHA Preferred 1-3 years Preferred 1 year experience
