Job Description
Job Overview Join our dynamic healthcare team as a Surgical Technician, where your expertise will directly impact patient outcomes and surgical success. In this vital role, you will assist surgeons and medical staff during surgical procedures, ensuring a sterile environment, preparing surgical instruments, and providing exceptional patient care. Your energetic approach and attention to detail will help facilitate smooth operations in a fast-paced surgical setting, contributing to positive patient experiences and optimal health results. Duties Prepare operating rooms by sterilizing instruments, arranging supplies, and ensuring all equipment is functioning properly before procedures. Assist surgeons by passing instruments, sutures, and other surgical supplies swiftly and accurately during operations. Maintain strict adherence to sterile techniques to prevent infections and ensure patient safety throughout procedures. Monitor patient vital signs and provide support during surgery, including managing anesthesia equipment under supervision. Document surgical procedures accurately in electronic health records (EHR), including patient information, procedures performed, and post-operative instructions. Support patient care by explaining procedures, addressing concerns, and ensuring comfort before, during, and after surgery. Collaborate with multidisciplinary teams to coordinate patient treatment planning and follow-up care, including wound care and behavioral interventions when applicable. Skills Strong understanding of medical terminology relevant to surgical procedures and patient care. Experience working with culturally diverse communities to provide respectful and personalized care. Certification in Basic Life Support (BLS) and Cardiopulmonary Resuscitation (CPR), with the ability to respond swiftly in emergency situations. Knowledge of hyperbaric medicine principles when applicable to specialized surgical environments. Proficiency in electronic health records (EHR) management for accurate documentation and data retrieval. Familiarity with telehealth platforms for remote consultations related to pre- or post-surgical care. Excellent client communication skills to effectively explain procedures, answer questions, and provide compassionate support.
