7:00 PM•7:00 AM (12-hour shifts) Weekend coverage required Job Summary We are seeking an experienced Certified Surgical Technologist (CST) with Labor & Delivery (L&D) experience for an 8-week contract in Pompton Plains, NJ. The Surgical Technologist will assist the surgical team during operative procedures while maintaining a sterile environment and providing support to Labor & Delivery staff when not in a surgical case. Responsibilities Assist surgeons, physicians, and registered nurses during surgical procedures. Prepare and maintain sterile instruments, supplies, and equipment. Anticipate the needs of the surgeon during operative procedures. Maintain the sterile field throughout all surgical procedures. Follow hospital policies, standard precautions, and infection prevention guidelines. Ensure patient safety before, during, and after procedures. Assist with room setup, turnover, and restocking of supplies. Complete patient vital signs when assigned. Perform adult venipuncture. Assist Labor & Delivery staff with post-delivery patient care and room cleanup. Prepare and stock patient rooms and procedure areas. Perform additional Surgical Technologist duties as assigned. Minimum Qualifications High School Diploma or GED Graduate of an accredited Surgical Technology program Certified Surgical Technologist (CST)•Required Labor & Delivery Surgical Technologist experience•Required Experience maintaining a sterile field during surgical procedures Strong knowledge of surgical instruments and operating room procedures Ability to anticipate surgeon needs during procedures Ability to push, pull, and lift up to 35 lbs. Ability to stand and walk for extended periods Physical Requirements Lift, push, and pull up to 35 lbs. Prolonged standing, walking, and occasional sitting throughout the shift. Ability to work in a fast-paced Labor & Delivery environment.
Pay:
$2,400.00•$2,500.00 per week Application Question(s): Do you have a Certified Surgical Technologist (CST) certification? Have you graduated from an accredited Surgical Technology program? Are you experienced in handling surgical instruments, supplies, and operating room equipment? Are you able to lift, push, and pull up to 35 lbs. and stand for extended periods? Are you available to work night shifts (7:00 PM•7:00 AM) and weekends?
