1 Description American Traveler is seeking a Certified Surgical Technologist with labor and delivery experience for a day shift travel position in a Mother Baby/Maternity unit in Pompton Plains, NJ. Details Hospital-based Mother Baby/Maternity unit setting Day shift, 12-hour shifts (0700-1900), 3 days per week, 36 hours per week Weekend coverage required No on-call required Floating to a nearby sister hospital may be required as needed Uses Epic for charting When not scrubbed into a surgical case, the tech is expected to perform additional floor duties including patient vitals, adult venipuncture, assisting labor and delivery staff with post-delivery cleanup, and restocking and setting up patient rooms Requirements Certified Surgical Technologist (CST) credential required Labor and delivery room experience required High school diploma or GED required Graduate of an accredited Surgical Technology program required Active NJ license required if applicable Epic EMR experience Ability to push, pull, and lift up to 35 lbs Ability to tolerate extended periods of sitting, standing, and/or walking Two professional references required for consideration Additional Information Assist in the care of surgical patients by handling instruments, supplies, and equipment throughout operative procedures Anticipate surgeon needs and maintain a thorough understanding of procedures being performed Maintain and monitor the sterile field throughout all surgical cases Follow physician and RN instructions closely, adhering to established OR policies and procedures Practice standard precautions and maintain a safe environment in compliance with hospital policies and regulatory requirements Candidates must reside more than 50 miles from the facility — local candidates are not eligible for this position 8-week contract assignment
