Job Description

Position Summary We are seeking a skilled Surgical Technologist to join our OR team. The Surgical Tech works alongside surgeons, anesthesia providers, and nursing staff to prepare the operating room, maintain the sterile field, and assist during procedures. Orthopedic/arthroscopy experience strongly preferred.
Responsibilities Prepare operating rooms:
set up instruments, equipment, and sterile supplies according to surgeon preference cards Maintain the sterile field and enforce aseptic technique throughout procedures Pass instruments and supplies to surgeons during procedures; anticipate surgical needs Perform accurate sponge, sharps, and instrument counts with the circulating nurse Assist with patient positioning, prepping, and draping Handle specimens per facility protocol Break down rooms post-procedure; assist with instrument decontamination and turnover Assist with sterile processing duties as needed (cleaning, wrapping, sterilizing instruments) Maintain inventory of surgical supplies and report shortages Comply with all facility policies, AORN standards, and

Qualifications Required:
Graduate of an accredited surgical technology program (CAAHEP/ABHES) or equivalent qualifying experience per NYS Public Health Law §2824 NYS surgical technology requirements met; CST certification (NBSTSA) or eligibility BLS certification (current) Ability to stand for extended periods and lift up to 50 lbs
Preferred:
2+ years OR experience, ASC setting preferred Orthopedic experience, especially shoulder and knee arthroscopy

$33.00 - $40.00 per hour
