Job Description

Category Nursing - CVOR Tech Job Type Contract Advance your career working as a Cardiovascular Operating Room (CVOR) Technologist, focusing on cardiothoracic procedures such as CABG, valve replacements, VATS, and robotic chest surgeries. This contract opportunity offers direct participation in critical surgical interventions alongside highly skilled surgeons and OR teams. Schedule Day rotation, Monday through Friday (typical start times between 6:00 AM-7:00 AM) 40 hours per week, with flexible options: 5 x 8-hour or 4 x 10-hour shifts Up to 3 on-call shifts per week (8-16 hours each) One working weekend every 4 weeks, paired with a call shift 13-week assignment Required Qualifications Demonstrated CVOR and cardiothoracic surgical experience (CABG, valve replacements, VATS, robotic chest procedures) Certified Surgical Technologist (NBSTSA certification) Active BLS certification Proficient in sterile technique, infection control, and surgical scrub procedures Strong organizational skills and the ability to anticipate surgeon needs and maintain sterile fields Ability to function effectively within a fast-paced, collaborative surgical environment Key Responsibilities Maintain strict adherence to sterile technique; practice asepsis at all times in the operating room Prepare, organize, and manage surgical instruments, supplies, and equipment according to case preference cards Assist surgeons directly by gowning, gloving, draping, instrument passing, and handling specimens per protocol Participate actively in patient safety and surgical site infection prevention Confidently handle intraoperative emergencies, potential hazards, and equipment checks Support both new and experienced team members; serve as a resource for OR staff Ensure efficient case turn-over and maintain clear, accurate surgical counts throughout This position invites you to bring your specialized expertise to a high-impact role while collaborating with dedicated professionals.
