  • 08/10/2026 Duties Operating room surgical technician is an integral member of the multidisciplinary surgical team.
The surgical technician acts as a scrub person, prepares and handles instruments, supplies, and equipment necessary during a surgical procedure. He/She has an understanding of the procedure being performed and anticipates the needs of the surgeon. He/She works collaboratively with other team members to assure quality patient care during the operative procedure. The surgical technician functions under the supervision of a registered nurse. Participates in the on-call schedule for afterhours urgent/ emergent surgical cases, unless otherwise indicated. Prepare operating rooms by sterilizing and arranging surgical instruments, equipment, and supplies to ensure readiness for procedures. Assist surgeons during surgeries by passing instruments, suturing wounds, and managing surgical tools with precision. Monitor patient vital signs and physiological responses throughout procedures, ensuring optimal patient stability. Maintain strict aseptic techniques and infection control protocols to prevent Familiarity with hospital information systems including Epic EMR or similar EHR platforms for accurate documentation. Excellent analysis skills for assessing patient needs quickly during acute care scenarios or critical care situations. Proven track record of adhering to healthcare infection prevention protocols and aseptic techniques to ensure patient safety. Experience assisting with endoscopy procedures and treatment of fractures within orthopedic or trauma settings. Ability to work efficiently in fast-paced hospital environments with a focus on patient-centered care across diverse populations including pediatrics. Submission Requirements
  • Must be certified as a Surgical Technician 1 year experience required as a Surgical Technician Need people with broad experience and especially vascular because they will be taking call and need to scrub for those procedures as well.
