Job Description

CVOR Surgical Technologist -
Surgical Services Facility Location:
Columbus, OH 4310
Contract Length:
13 weeks (With possible Extension) (BI02)
Schedule:
Day Shift, 5x8 Hr (06:30 AM - 03:00 PM) with call coverage | Some shifts extend to 11:00
PM Requirements Experience:
Minimum 5 years CST experience, including 2+ years in cardiac & vascular surgery , and 1 year CVOR in a Level I Trauma facility .
Certifications:
BLS required. CST certification preferred.
Skills:
Proficiency with cardiovascular/thoracic instruments, reprocessing, crash cart, case carts, and EPIC documentation. Ability to work flexible shifts with call responsibilities. CVOR Tech, CVOR Surgical Technologist, Cardiovascular Surgical Technologist, Cardiac OR Tech, Open Heart Surgical Tech, Cardiac Surgery Tech Job Summary This role requires advanced scrub experience in cardiac and vascular procedures, working in a fast-paced Level I Trauma facility. Key Responsibilities Scrub for complex cardiac, vascular, thoracic, and transplant procedures (CABG, EVAR, TEVAR, valve replacements, VAD, TAVR, lung resections, etc.). Prepare and maintain surgical instruments, supplies, and sterile fields. Collaborate with surgeons, anesthesiologists, and nurses to ensure safe and efficient procedures. Follow aseptic technique, specimen handling, and universal safety protocols. Support emergency cases and trauma procedures as needed. Participate in call coverage, including evenings, weekends, and holidays.
Unit & Facility Details Setting:
Cardiovascular Operating Room (CVOR) - Adult and Geriatric patients. Trauma Level I academic medical center.
Equipment:
Varied CVOR instruments, cell saver, crash cart, electrosurgical units, fiber optics, scopes. Interdisciplinary support with surgeons, perfusionists, anesthesiologists, and specialized OR staff.
