1 Description American Traveler seeks a Certified OB Surgical Technologist for a night shift Labor & Delivery position, open to first-time travelers. Details Short term acute care teaching hospital setting within the Labor & Delivery unit Certified OB Tech role supporting 1:1 patient ratios Night shift schedule, 3x12 hours from 19:00 to 7:00 Weekend rotation required every other weekend No on-call requirements No floating between units required at the primary facility Uses Epic for charting Scrubs provided for OR/Cath Lab; any color accepted elsewhere Requirements Minimum of 1 year of experience as a Surgical Technologist BLS certification required CST certification required NBSTSA credential required OR license required if applicable Epic charting experience preferred Proficiency in aseptic technique, isolation precautions/PPE, and sharps safety Skilled in equipment documentation, specimen handling/labeling, and Universal Protocol (time out) procedures Must have a personal vehicle for this assignment Additional Information First-time travelers are welcome to apply for this position Travelers may be required to float to sister facilities near the contracted location Refusal to float may result in termination of the assignment Candidates must live outside a 50 mile radius of the facility to qualify for travel rates; local candidates may be accepted at a lower bill rate Former permanent staff must wait at least 3 months before returning as a traveler and must reside outside the 50 mile radius Two supervisory references covering at least 1 year of experience within the last 3 years are required, which may include Charge RNs or Leads Candidates must commit to working 3 of the 5 major holidays (Thanksgiving, Christmas Eve, Christmas Day, New Year's Eve, New Year's Day) Up to 6 total days or 3 consecutive days of RTO may be auto-approved; additional time off requests may delay offer approval All RTO and scheduling preferences must be submitted upfront during the application process Orientation includes completion of training modules, averaging 16 hours, with annual refreshers required Working in a teaching hospital environment with a total of 536 staff beds No parking fees at this facility
