1 Description American Traveler is seeking a Certified Surgical First Assistant (CSFA) with cardiothoracic and open heart experience for a hospital OR position in Johnstown, PA. Details Hospital OR setting at a Level 1 Trauma Center Specialty focus on cardiothoracic surgery, including open heart cases and main OR coverage Adult and geriatric patient population; pediatric open hearts are excluded Monday through Friday, 6:30 AM - 3:00 PM shift On-call required on weekends (Saturday-Sunday, 24-48 hours) and weekday after-hours (3:00 PM - 7:00 AM) Floats to the main OR when no cardiothoracic cases are scheduled Requirements CSFA (Certified Surgical First Assistant) certification required AHA BLS certification required Minimum 2 years of experience scrubbing and first assisting in open heart surgeries preferred, including CABG on-pump and off-pump, robotic, and laparoscopic lung cases Cardiothoracic and open heart first assisting experience (CABG) required Social Security number and date of birth required for consideration Pennsylvania state clearances required prior to start, including PA Child Abuse History Clearance, PA State Police (PATCH) clearance, and FBI/Department of Aging fingerprinting License required if applicable Additional Information Serve as surgical first assistant during cardiothoracic procedures including open heart CABG, robotic, and laparoscopic lung cases Scrubs are provided in blue Candidates must reside more than 60 miles from the facility to qualify for travel rates Candidates who have worked as permanent staff at any LifePoint facility within the last 12 months are not eligible Candidates who are employed full-time elsewhere are not eligible Pennsylvania fingerprinting and background clearances must be completed and submitted before the candidate can be cleared to start
