Under the direction of the Registered Nurse, provides technical assistance during surgical procedures utilizing sterile techniques to ensure quality patient care and safety. Provides direct and indirect nursing care for the pediatric to geriatric Populations in the hospital setting. Duties & Responsibilities Scrubs and provides technical assistance on assigned cases. Adheres to policies and procedures and demonstrates knowledge of standards of practice. Assembles and prepares required sterile supplies, instruments, equipment and medications/solutions needed for procedure. Participates in maintenance of accurate counts per policy. Actively participates in verification and debriefing time out prior to procedures. Operates all equipment safely and properly. Qualifications Graduate of an accredited Surgical Technologist program or military equivalent. Certification is required. If you graduated after 1/1/08 you must be certified. All candidates that graduated prior to 1/1/08 will be eligible for consideration. Surgical technologists that are not certified may be hired but must obtain certification within 12 months of hire.
