1 Description American Traveler is seeking a Certified Surgical Technologist (CST) with general surgery and multi-specialty OR experience for a 13-week travel assignment at an acute care hospital in Columbia, SC. Details 304-bed acute care hospital setting with 9 operating rooms Day shift schedule, 4x10-hour shifts (6:30a-5:00p) Floating between service lines within the same facility may be required; floating to sister facilities is not required On-call requirement includes 1 weekday call shift per week and 2-3 weekend call shifts per 6-week schedule Weekend requirement includes 2-3 weekends per 6-week schedule Epic EMR used; experience preferred but not required Hospital-issued scrubs provided for OR staff Requirements Minimum of 1 year of CST experience with substantial general surgery background Experience with orthopedic, neuro, ophthalmology, and robotic-assisted surgery required NBSTSA certification required; NCCT certification is not accepted BLS certification required (AHA only) SC license required if applicable Radiation badge required; must be provided by the agency prior to assignment start 2 professional references from a supervisor within the past 2 years required for consideration Driver's license required for consideration SSN required for consideration Additional Information First-time travelers are welcome to apply for this position Candidates who live within 60 miles of the facility are considered local; non-local candidates are prioritized, though local candidates may be considered on a case-by-case basis Previous permanent or PRN staff at any MUSC location must have been separated from the system for at least 1 year before being eligible to return as a traveler All requested time off (RTO) must be submitted at the time of consideration; RTO requests submitted after will not be accepted Orientation modules are completed prior to the assignment start date Candidates should be aware that during hurricane season (June-November), all employees and contractors may be assigned to emergency response teams; peak activity months are August and September Teaching hospital and Trauma experience preferred
