Job Description

Position Summary :
Responsible for rendering professional clinical care within the medical practice in support of and as directed by the Physician or Practitioner. Will also have general responsibilities to assist in the day-to-day operation of this office.
Essential Position Functio ns:
To provide quality patient care and patient satisfaction and meet regulatory requirements, the Certified Surgical Technologist performs the following duties:
Patient Care Duties :
Assists Physicians or Practitioner in office surgeries/procedures using sterile procedure guidelines to ensure non-contamination of sterile field. Sets up appropriate surgical Instrument trays. Works with Physician in the procedure rooms, documenting patient exam/procedures and recording the plan of treatment. Wash and sterilize instruments. Order clinic supplies. Schedule office procedures and follow up appointments. Performs other related clinical duties as required.
Other Clinical care duties:
Ensures that all equipment in the exam room is clean and properly set up prior to each patient encounter. Ensures solutions are adequate. Checks emergency kit (if applicable) Cleans and restocks examining rooms for the day's use according to the daily check off list. Ensures that reports from diagnostic test ordered have been received. Removes all Instruments and scopes and takes them to the processing room. Handles scopes with proper instructions so they do not get broken. Assists in maintaining all clinical equipment to include sterilizing, if applicable. Evaluates all equipment for damage to report to the clinical manager.
Scheduling and Administrative Duties:
Documents telephone calls accurately in medical record. Maintains strict confidentiality. Performs other duties as required.
