Methodist Hospital, part of SA Health, is seeking a Certified Surgical Tech to join our Healthcare & Medical Services team in the operating room. The Surgical Tech will assist surgeons and RNs during procedures, maintain a sterile field, prepare and organize instruments, and ensure equipment functionality and safety. Responsibilities include pre-op room setup, intra-op support, accurate counts, and post-op turnover. Responsibilities Prepare and set up operating rooms, instruments, and supplies for surgical procedures Maintain sterile field and adhere to strict infection control standards Assist surgeons and RNs during procedures by passing instruments and supplies Perform accurate instrument, sponge, and needle counts Operate and troubleshoot basic surgical equipment Anticipate surgeon and patient needs throughout procedures Assist with patient positioning, prepping, and draping under RN/MD direction Ensure proper cleaning, processing, and restocking of instruments and supplies Document required intraoperative information per hospital policy Collaborate with multidisciplinary team to support safe, efficient patient care Required Skills Surgical instrumentation handling Aseptic and sterile technique Operating room workflow and turnover Surgical equipment operation (e.g., electrocautery, scopes) Infection prevention and control Surgical counting procedures and documentation Patient positioning and draping Basic anatomy and surgical procedures knowledge Medical terminology OR safety standards and regulatory compliance
