Job Description

Description The medical-surgical unit is a 27-bed unit specializing in renal care and urology patients. We provide care for chronic and acute renal disease patients, many of whom have comorbid conditions such as diabetes, cardiovascular disease, hypertension, and infectious wounds. This unit serves a patient population ranging from young adults to the geriatric. Our goal is to provide exemplary care utilizing evidence-based practice and providing thorough discharge teaching to prevent/delay subsequent hospitalizations. Our team works well together and loves our Mission of extending the healing ministry of Jesus Christ to our patients.
Summary:
Provides basic patient care under the direction of nursing staff and ensures patient safety and well-being.

Competencies:
Leader of Self, Leader of Others, or Leader of Leaders. Answering patient calls and helping patients with eating, bathing, dressing, grooming, and mobility. Feeding patients, measuring and recording their food and liquid intake. Monitoring and documenting patients' temperature, blood pressure, and other vital signs and reporting changes to nurses or doctors. Assisting nurses or doctors with medical procedures and dressing wounds.
Job Requirements:
Education/Skills High School Diploma or equivalent preferred. Experience Experience in a hospital setting preferred. Licenses, Registrations, or Certifications BLS required.
