Job Description
Job Summary Under the supervision of a Registered Nurse and/or Physician performs a variety of specialized technical duties in the surgical or procedural environment. This position assists the surgical team through the use of equipment and instrumentation to ensure that the operating room environment is safe, and that required equipment is available and functioning properly. Education Education Type Program of Study Required/Preferred High School Diploma N/A Required Accredited Program Surgical Technician Required Experience Number of Years Type of Experience Required/Preferred 1 Years Surgical Tech Preferred Certification & Licensures Certification/Licensure Type Required/Preferred Surgical Technician Certification by The National Board of Surgical Technology and Surgical Assisting Required Surgical Technician Certification by The National Center for Competency Testing Required United States Military or United States Public Health Service Surgical Technology Program Required Basic Life Support (BLS) Certification Required Only one of of these certifications must be obtained Must obtain within ninety (90) days of hire
