Job Description

Where You'll Work St. Luke's Health-Lakeside Hospital in The Woodlands is a 30 bed facility dedicated to enhancing your health and well-being. Our facility is a collaboration between St. Luke's Health and a team of specialized physicians—focused on general and interventional cardiology, sports medicine, and orthopedics, including total joint replacement and spine care—in the North Houston community. As the only hospital in Montgomery County to offer sports medicine as a major service line, Lakeside Hospital provides inpatient and outpatient care as well as diagnostic imaging, including MRI, CT, and nuclear medicine. Job Summary and Responsibilities As our Surgical Tech, you will help prepare the operating room and surgical team so they can successfully perform a variety of surgical procedures for patients.

Every day you will set up surgical equipment and instruments, assist the surgical team, and ensure a sterile environment. You will be expected to adapt quickly, collaborate effectively within the OR team, and contribute directly to the patient's healing process.

To be successful in this role, you must possess adaptability, a strong team-player mindset, and enthusiasm for supporting complex surgical procedures. Assists surgical team in the scrubbing role according to prescribed standards and licensure. Maintains sterile field. Reports immediately any breaks in aseptic technique. Passes instruments, suture products, medication, and sponge materials to surgeon. Assists with retracting of tissue and organs, and suctioning by holding the retracting instrument which has been placed by the surgeon. Electrosurgical current may be applied as directed by the surgeon, to an established instrument placed by the surgeon. Performs surgical counts with the RN according to policy and procedure. Job Requirements Required High School Graduate General Studies and Minimum of two (2) years of surgical experience, upon hire or High School GED General Studies and Minimum of two (2) years of surgical experience, upon hire Certified Surgical Technologist, upon hire or Technologist in Surgery-Certified, upon hire and Basic Life Support - CPR, within 14 - days
