1 Description American Traveler seeks a Surgical Technologist with Level 1 or 2 trauma experience for a busy hospital OR handling high case volumes across multiple surgical specialties. Details Hospital-based Operating Room setting with 28 OR rooms handling 70-85 cases per day Weekend coverage includes 7-8 ORs on Saturday and 5-6 ORs on Sunday, mostly urgent and some scheduled cases OR runs 24/7, 365 days per year Service lines include Ortho (including total joints, OTT), General Surgery, Robotics, Organ Transplants (kidney), ENT, Oral/Maxillofacial, Vascular/Thoracic, Urology, and Pediatrics Patient population includes adults and pediatrics, with neonatal and pediatric experience preferred Epic EMR used for charting Dayshift schedule with a mix of 2x8-hour shifts (0700-1530) and 2x12-hour shifts (0700-1930), with varying days and no set schedule Rotates to night shift on a PRN 8-hour basis as needed Team self-schedules for shifts and call coverage Weekend requirement of 2-3 shifts (Saturday or Sunday) per 6-week schedule period Call requirement of 3-4 weekday and 3-4 weekend shifts (4 hours each) per 6-week schedule, averaging up to 24 hours Holiday and night rotation as needed by the unit, with at least 1 holiday required Requirements Minimum of 2 years of experience as a Surgical Technologist Level 1 or 2 trauma center experience required BLS certification from the American Heart Association required Virginia state registration required at submission License required if applicable Prior travel assignment experience required (at least 1-2 completed assignments); first-time travelers will not be considered Trauma experience preferred Neonatal and pediatric surgical experience preferred Additional Information Scrubs are provided by the facility Candidates should be prepared for a high-volume, fast-paced surgical environment supporting a wide range of specialties
