1 Description American Traveler is seeking a Surgical Technologist with Level 1 or 2 trauma experience for a busy hospital OR handling a high volume of complex surgical cases. Details Work in a large 28-room hospital OR running 24/7/365 Handle a high volume of 70-85 cases per day Service lines include Ortho (including total joints and OTT), General Surgery, Robotics, Organ Transplant (kidney), ENT, Oral/Maxillofacial, Vascular/Thoracic, Urology, and Pediatrics Care for adult and pediatric patient populations EMR system used is Epic Day shift schedule includes 2x8-hour (0700-1530) and 2x12-hour (0700-1930) shifts with varying, self-scheduled hours Rotate to night shifts on a PRN basis Weekend requirement of 2-3 shifts per 6-week schedule (Saturday or Sunday), covering 7-8 ORs on Saturdays and 5-6 ORs on Sundays for mostly urgent and some scheduled cases On-call requirement of 5-6 shifts (4 hours each) per 6-week schedule, averaging 3-4 weekday and 3-4 weekend shifts up to 24 hours max Holiday and night rotation required as needed by the unit, including at least 1 holiday Requirements Minimum of 2 years of experience as a Surgical Technologist required Level 1 or Level 2 trauma center experience required BLS certification from the American Heart Association required Virginia state registration required at time of consideration License required if applicable Previous travel assignment experience required (at least 1-2 prior assignments); first-time travelers will not be considered Neonate, pediatric, and trauma experience preferred Additional Information Scrubs are provided Team participates in self-scheduling for shifts and call coverage Fast-paced environment supporting a wide range of surgical specialties and high case volume
