1 Description American Traveler is seeking a Surgical Technologist with Level 1 or 2 trauma experience for a busy hospital OR setting. Details 28-room hospital OR running 24/7/365 Handles 70-85 cases per day, with 7-8 ORs staffed Saturdays and 5-6 ORs on Sundays for mostly urgent and some scheduled cases Service lines include Ortho (including total joints and OTT), General Surgery, Robotics, Organ Transplants (kidney), ENT, Oral/Maxillofacial, Vascular/Thoracic, Urology, and Pediatrics Treats adult and pediatric patients, with neonatal and pediatric experience preferred Uses Epic EMR Dayshift schedule with 2x8-hour shifts (0700-1530) and 2x12-hour shifts (0700-1930), with varying days and no set schedule PRN rotation to night shift as needed Team self-schedules for shifts and call assignments Weekend requirement of 2-3 shifts per 6-week schedule (Saturday or Sunday) Call requirement of 3-4 weekday and 3-4 weekend 4-hour shifts per 6-week schedule, averaging up to 24 hours Holiday and night rotation coverage required as needed by the unit, including at least 1 holiday per assignment Requirements Minimum of 2 years of experience as a Surgical Technologist Level 1 or Level 2 trauma center experience required BLS certification from the American Heart Association VA state registration required for consideration License required if applicable At least 1-2 prior travel assignments required; first-time travelers will not be considered Trauma experience preferred Additional Information Scrubs are provided Support high-volume surgical services across multiple specialties including orthopedics, general surgery, robotics, transplant, and more Participate in a self-scheduling team structure for shifts and call coverage
