08/04/2026 Job Description Support Every Surgery. Make Every Moment Count. As a Surgical Technician II, you'll create and maintain the sterile field during surgical procedures while serving as an experienced Operating Room Surgical Technologist. Working in a busy hospital operating room, you'll partner with surgeons, anesthesia providers, and perioperative nurses to deliver safe, efficient patient care across a wide variety of surgical specialties. Using advanced knowledge of operative procedures, instrumentation, anatomy, and surgeon preferences, you'll anticipate surgeon needs throughout the surgical experience. Working closely with surgeons, nurses, and other perioperative team members, you'll support patients during the preoperative, intraoperative, and postoperative phases of care. You'll also serve as a preceptor, helping to develop and support fellow team members. Education & Certification High school diploma or equivalent required. Current BLS certification (renewed every two years or as required by UVMMC). Graduate of an accredited civilian, military, or hospital-based Surgical Technology program. Current Certified Surgical Technologist (CST) or Tech in Surgery-Certified (TS-C) certification, or eligibility to obtain certification, required. Experience Minimum of two years of successful experience as a Surgical Technologist or Surgical Technician in an operating room required.
