Egrari Plastic Surgery Center, a well-established and reputable plastic surgery practice in Bellevue with over 25 years of excellence, is seeking a full-time Back-Up Surgical Technologist / Surgical Unit Attendant with experience. The primary role of this position is to support all aspects of the surgical unit, including pre-, intra-, and post-operative care. This position functions as a back-up Surgical Technologist while also serving as a Surgical Unit Attendant, ensuring the efficient operation of the surgical suite through clinical support, sterile processing, inventory management, and environmental maintenance.Schedule:
Monday-Wednesday 6:00 AM - 6:00 PM (varies based on surgery); Thursday 8:00 AM - 12:00PM Key Responsibilities:
Assist the surgeon in the operating room when functioning as a Surgical Technologist, including serving as a back-up scrub tech with appropriate training and competency validation Prepare and maintain the operating room with necessary instruments, supplies, and equipment, ensuring all items are functional, available, and sterile Maintain sterile field and adhere to aseptic technique at all times Clean and disinfect operating rooms and instruments after each procedure, including weekly terminal cleaning and monthly terminal cleaning Perform proper sterilization of instruments and trays per OSHA standards, including autoclave cleaning, maintenance, and documentation Dispose of contaminated and disposable items in accordance with OSHA guidelines Maintain operating and supply rooms in a clean, organized, and well-stocked condition Manage inventory of surgical supplies, implants, and medications, including stocking, tracking, and communicating shortages Place routine supply and medication orders and manage implant returns as directed Receive, handle, and organize deliveries while maintaining orderly storage and distribution areas Coordinate maintenance, scheduling, and readiness of surgical equipment to ensure proper functionality Monitor and document operating room temperature and humidity, as well as medication refrigerator temperatures on surgery days Maintain patient confidentiality in accordance with HIPAA and adhere to OSHA, CLIA, and facility safety standards Participate in quality improvement initiatives and maintain compliance with required trainings (e.g., CPR, OSHA, infection control) Attend staff meetings and ongoing education sessions; maintain professional development and certifications Perform additional duties and projects as assigned by leadershipTypical Physical Demands:
Full range of motion including lifting, bending, and prolonged standing/walking Ability to assist with patient positioning and transfers Lift and carry items up to 50 pounds Manual dexterity and hand-eye coordination required Normal visual acuity and hearing are required. Ability to work under stress and flexible/irregular hours. Regular exposure to bodily fluids.Educational Requirements:
High school degree required. Certified Surgical Technologist (CST) preferred OR Certified Medical Assistant (CMA) with surgical experience Current BLS certificate. Training in plastic surgery assisting is a plus. New Grads Welcome.Qualifications and Experience:
Experience in surgical unit preferred Knowledge of sterile technique and OSHA standards Experience with EMR systems (Nextech preferred) Organized with attention to detail Comfortable using email and interacting with Internet applications Professional, courteous demeanor with strong communication skills Neat, professional appearancePay:
