Job Description

Category Nursing - ORT Job Type Contract Experienced professionals with expertise in perioperative nursing are needed for a specialized role supporting the surgical team as a Certified Surgical Technologist. This contract opportunity is ideal for those with a background in the operating room environment and a commitment to patient safety and clinical excellence.
Qualifications & Desired Experience:
Current certification as a Surgical Technologist (NBSTSA or equivalent) Proven experience as an OR Tech or Certified Surgical Tech Strong understanding of aseptic technique and infection control protocols Demonstrated ability to set up and maintain a sterile field throughout procedures Knowledge of surgical instruments, equipment, and protocol Ability to anticipate the needs of the surgical team Excellent communication and organizational skills Active BLS certification required Experience in high-volume or hospital-based operating rooms preferred
Primary Responsibilities:
Prepare and organize operating room instruments, supplies, and equipment preoperatively Assist surgeons and other healthcare professionals during surgical procedures, including passing instruments and maintaining sterile technique Handle specimens correctly and ensure all specimens are properly labeled and transported Count instruments, sponges, and sharps pre- and post-operatively to ensure patient safety Support postoperative cleaning and preparation of the operating room for subsequent procedures Maintain clear documentation related to surgical activities and equipment use Collaborate closely with nurses, surgeons, and anesthesia personnel to ensure seamless surgical operations This opportunity allows you to expand your clinical skills in a dynamic and supportive operating room while making a meaningful impact on patient care and recovery.
