Certified Surgical Technicians CAMC Charleston Surgical Hospital Up to $27/hour Monday - Friday Day Shift Full Time Join our dynamic healthcare team as a Certified Surgical Technologist working day shifts in a fast-paced, high-quality surgical environment! In this vital role, you will assist surgeons and surgical teams by preparing operating rooms, ensuring sterile techniques, and supporting patient safety throughout procedures. Your expertise will help deliver exceptional care in a variety of surgical settings, including trauma, emergency, pediatric, and medical-surgical surgeries. This position offers an exciting opportunity to apply your skills in a collaborative environment committed to excellence and patient-centered care. Prepare operating rooms by sterilizing instruments, arranging supplies, and ensuring all equipment is functioning properly before procedures begin Assist surgeons during surgeries by passing instruments, suturing wounds, and managing surgical tools with precision and aseptic technique Monitor patient vital signs and physiological responses during procedures to ensure safety and stability Maintain accurate medical records using electronic health record (EHR) systems such as Epic or other EMR platforms Support infection control protocols by adhering to strict aseptic techniques and sterilization procedures throughout all surgical activities Collect data related to surgical procedures, patient outcomes, and equipment usage for quality improvement initiatives Collaborate with multidisciplinary teams including anesthesia providers, nurses, and physicians to optimize patient care in diverse settings such as
ICU, PICU
(Pediatric Intensive Care Unit), or trauma centersSkills Extensive OR experience with proficiency in suturing, sterile techniques, and instrument handling Strong knowledge of anatomy, physiology, and medical terminology relevant to surgery and critical care environments Experience working in Level I Trauma Centers or Level II Trauma Centers with exposure to emergency medicine and acute care procedures Familiarity with hospital medicine workflows, including medical-surgical units and ambulatory surgery centers Ability to analyze clinical data such as vital signs and laboratory results to support patient monitoring and safety measures Proficiency with EMR/EHR systems like Epic or similar platforms for documentation of medical records and surgical data Excellent attention to detail combined with strong analysis skills for troubleshooting equipment issues or procedural complications Knowledge of infection control standards and aseptic techniques essential for maintaining sterile environments during surgeries Ability to work effectively in high-pressure situations within critical care settings such as ICU or PICU environments Basic life support certification (BLS) required; additional certifications like Advanced Cardiac Life Support (ACLS) are a plus Join us in delivering outstanding surgical care through your expertise!
