Nursing Status :
Full Time - 36 hours per week
Hours :
12 hour shifts: 4:00pm - 4:30am, Hours may be adjusted in response to workload demands. Low census may be utilized in accordance with hospital policy.
Job summary:
Assists patients with activities of daily living, provides basic nursing care and assists in maintenance of a safe and clean environment under the direction and supervision of the Shift Manager or Charge Nurse.
Qualifications/Position Requirements:
High School Graduate or equivalent required. CNA required. One year of medical-surgical nursing, emergency nursing or equivalent experience preferred. BLS Certification required within 3 months of hire and recertification as required.
Knowledge of basic nursing care:
VS, I & O, glucometer testing, assistance with ADLs. Knowledge of basic Anatomy and Physiology. Knowledge of basic Medical Terminology. Ability to read, write and speak English. Ability to establish effective working relationships and effective communication with peers, patients, families, physicians and all other support hospital & external personnel Maintaining a positive perspective/attitude and participation in the promotion of change to keep current with health care Ability to follow directions accurately, accept delegated responsibilities with professionalism, and consistently demonstrate accountability, teamwork, and advocacy. Organized and has the ability to manage multiple tasks in a stressful situation while maintaining composure. Exemplary critical thinking, and technical skills essential to job. Ability to provide and promote excellence in the delivery of services to both internal and external customers. Desire to be part of a health care team dedicated to providing the community and patient's optimal care and excellent service. A sense of responsibility, initiative, honesty and a positive attitude.
