A Brief Overview The Monitor Technician/Clinical Secretary continually monitors cardiac rhythms on a specific unit, identifies and interprets changes in rhythms and acts appropriately. Performs clerical duties on a nursing unit, answers the telephone, relays messages, and acts as a receptionist receiving and directing visitors and ambulatory patients. What you will do Telephone and patient call bells are answered in a prompt & appropriate manner, redirects calls and patient requests promptly to appropriate staff, Utilizes Service Response Center in a timely manner, Obtains/stocks/organizes office supplies, Maintains label book and logbook with updates daily with no more than (1) occurrences of noncompliance Verifies with nurse on admission and every shift patient on telemetry Education Qualifications High School Diploma with the successful completion of Medical Terminology and Monitor Tech course with a passing score on the examination Preferred Experience Qualifications MT/Clerical experience Preferred Skills and Abilities Works with patients, families, physicians, and other health care providers.
