As directed by the physician, provides diagnostic imaging of blood flow and heart wall motion by ultrasound, conducts scanning of the carotid and venous system by ultrasound, and performs studies of arterial pressures by plethysmography, according to established standards and practice. Performs a variety of non-invasive cardiovascular procedures. Processes studies for interpretation. Maintains equipment and follows proper safety procedures. Organizes work area and maintains supplies. Responds to emergency situations per guidelines. Demonstrates knowledge and skills appropriate to the age of patients served. High School graduate or GED; documentation of completing at least 600 cardiac ultrasounds CPR certification or training provided
