Job Description -Staff Sonographer Seeking ARRT with path to US or Registered Sonographer Purpose The Staff Sonographer is responsible for ensuring all exams are performed to American College of Radiology (ACR) standards while maintaining our A+ patient care. Essential Responsibilities Responsible for ensuring that all orders are correct before beginning each exam as well as checking for old comparison studies; all scans display patient name, date of exam and scan plain; impression forms are complete with proper history and scanned into PACS; notes are added into PACS for Radiologist. Works closely with Radiologists and correct any issues identified by physicians. Responding to stat, fax and call reports in accordance with Clinic Policy. Maintain ultrasound rooms' cleanliness, ensuring that the areas are well stock. Other duties as assigned. Knowledge & Skills The ideal candidate would be well rounded in and have extensive knowledge and understanding of Sonography exams with registries acquired in Abdomen, OB/GYN, Breast and Vascular Technology. Medical Industry Experience a plus. Superior problem solving skills. Superior patient care skills Able to accept corrective instructions from Physicians/Managers. Strong project management skills (planning and execution) with demonstrated ability to multi-task and set priorities within tight timelines. Detail-oriented with the ability to handle moderately complex assignments under minimal supervision. Education High School Graduate or equivalent Graduate of accredited Sonography program with ARDMS registries in Abdomen, OB/GYN, Breast and Vascular Technology or work experience equivalent with same ARDMS credentials. Must maintain CME. Minimum of recent graduate of accredited Radiology or graduate of 12 month Sonography program. ARDMS registries in Abdomen, OB/GYN, Breast and Vascular Technology within 12 months of start date. Essential Functions Computer Skills Knowledge of e-mail/scheduling software applications. Physical Work Demands Able to sit and work at a computer keyboard for extended periods of time. Able to stoop, kneel, bend at the waist, and reach on a daily basis. Able to perform general office administrative activities: copying, filing, delivering and using the telephone. Able to lift and move up to 25 pounds occasionally. Requires normal, correctable vision and hearing. Other Work Demands Regular and on-time attendance. Excellent communication skills Occasional travel by conventional means including aircraft, motor vehicle and the like within the region and to other locations as required. Strong presentation skills. Strong organizational and time management skills.
