Summary SUMMARY:

Under the direction of the Diagnostic Imaging Director, performs Diagnostic Ultrasound procedures at a technical level not requiring constant supervision of technical detail and within established departmental policies and procedures. Must be fully proficient in all the duties required of this position. Performs related duties as required.

DUTIES AND ESSENTIAL JOB FUNCTIONS

NOTE :

Not all duties listed are necessarily performed by each individual in the classification. 1. Assists in orienting new staff and training Sonography students.

• 2. Explains process to patient, and instructs and assists patient in assuming physical position for examination.
• 3. Keys test data and patient information into computer of ultrasound equipment to maintain record of test results.
• 4. Moves transducer, by hand, over specified area of body and observes sound wave display screen to monitor quality of ultrasonic pattern produced.
• 5. Operates equipment that produces images of internal organs and records diagnostic data on storage media.
• 6. Responsible for organizing and maintaining clean work area, equipment and inventory.
• 7. Selects equipment for use in ultrasound setup according to specifications of examination.
• 8.

Selects transducer and adjusts equipment controls according to organ to be examined, depth of field, and other specifications of test.

$80.97

• $99.

89/hr The pay range for this position reflects the base pay scale for the role at Alameda Health System. Final compensation will be determined based on several factors, including but not limited to a candidate's experience, education, skills, licensure and certifications, departmental equity, applicable collective bargaining agreements, and the operational needs of the organization. QUALIFICATIONS

Education :

Sufficient to meet requirements for registry by ARDMS or ARRT in ultrasound.

Minimum Experience :

Twelve months recent experience in clinical ultrasound.

Required Licenses/Certifications :

BLS

• Basic Life Support Certification
• issued by AHA-American Heart Association.

Required Licenses/Certification s:

Current American Registry of Diagnostic Medical Sonography (ARDMS) certification, or registry in Ultrasound by the American Registry of Radiologic Technologist (ARRT) preferred. Must be registered in one anatomical specialty.

Additional Information Notes:

Position will cover Emergency Department ultrasound services for Level 1 trauma hospital. Emergent General Ultrasound and OB exams with Women's Clinic rotations for DVP scans. Option for on call will be available. Call back may be required and arrival within 60 minutes of notification. Women's clinic will require moderate number of DVP scans each rotation day. Trauma experience preferred but since this is a Level 1 Trauma hospital with a women's clinic.
