Position Summary As an Advanced Structural Heart Sonographer , you will perform comprehensive echocardiographic studies utilizing multiple imaging modalities to obtain critical diagnostic data for cardiovascular patients. This role specializes in transthoracic echocardiography (TTE) and advanced imaging, including structural TEE and 3D capabilities , in accordance with departmental and IAC protocols. What Youll Do Perform complete echocardiographic studies including M-mode, 2D echo, color flow, pulsed wave, and continuous wave Doppler Utilize advanced imaging techniques including TEE, 3D imaging, saline bubbles, enhancement agents, stress echo, and portable studies Assist providers during transesophageal echocardiographic procedures Collaborate with physicians and interdisciplinary teams to support accurate diagnosis and safe patient outcomes Accurately document patient and exam information within current systems and billing protocols Support training and orientation of staff, trainees, and visitors Why Lee Health? Performs complete echocardiographic studies integrating all imaging modalities necessary to obtain all pertinent patient data for diagnostic purposes. The Sonographer will specialize in transthoracic echocardiographic studies according to departmental and IAC protocol (which consist of M-mode, two-dimensional echocardiograms, color flow, pulsed wave and continuous wave Doppler). Will be proficient in advanced imaging in both TTE and structural TEE w/ 3D capabilities. Will utilize imaging enhancement agents, saline bubbles, ability to go portable, stress echo studies, and assist providers with transesophageal echocardiographic procedures as needed. Document completely and provide accurate patient data and echo exam information utilizing current information management system and follows appropriate billing for procedures. Assist in the orientation and training of all levels of trainees and visitors assigned to the Echocardiography department. Collaborate with providers during TEE procedures with suggestions to help ensure a thorough and accurate procedure. Offer professional insight of all testing with treatment team to promote interprofessional collaboration and safest outcomes.
Requirements Education:
Associate's or Bachelor's degree in Cardiovascular Technology preferred. Completion of an accredited Ultrasound Program required.
Experience:
Minimum of 7 years experience in vascular and Echo ultrasound required. Must be proficient in both registries.
Certification:
BLS Certification required. Registered with American Registry of Diagnostic Medical Sonographers in Vascular Technology (RVT) or Cardiovascular Credentialing International in Vascular Ultrasound (RVS) and one of the following registries: Registered with American Registry of Diagnostic Medical Sonographers in cardiac sonography (RDCS) or Cardiovascular Credentialing International in Echo Ultrasound (RCS).
