Overview Performs echocardiograms on adult and pediatric inpatient/outpatients.
Qualifications Age of Patients Served:
All Age Groups Required Education :
GED or High School Diploma.
Preferred Education :
Graduate of a Registered Diagnostic Cardiac Sonographer program.
Required Licensure/Certifications :
BLS certification from the American Heart Association CCI or ARDMS, RDCS, required within one (1) year of hire or transfer date.
Amount of Experience :
Less than one (1) year minimum.
Preferred Experience:
Registered Diagnostic Cardiac Sonographer.
Necessary Skills :
1. Knowledge of anatomy, physiology, and ultrasound physics. 2. Excellent interpersonal skills and customer/patient service, problem solving, time management and organizational skill, be a team player, excellent communication skills including telephone etiquette. 3. Ability to recognize life-threatening findings and notify physicians. 4. Ability to calculate test results. 5. Uses good body mechanics. 6. Maintain patient confidentiality. 7 . Serves as patient advocate. 8. Good organizational skills basic computer data entry.
