Job Description

Category Imaging - Echo Job Type Contract An experienced Cardiac Sonographer is needed for a contract opportunity performing comprehensive echocardiograms, with a strong emphasis on pediatric imaging. This position offers a dynamic environment supporting a high-volume department within a large, Level 1 Trauma teaching hospital. You'll collaborate closely with dedicated cardiologists, fellow Echo Techs, and support staff while utilizing state-of-the-art Philips and GE equipment.
Schedule and Shift Details:
10-hour day shifts, 8:00 AM - 6:30 PM Full-time, 40 hours per week On-call requirement: 1 night per week, from shift end to 7:00 AM, including occasional weekends Modified self-scheduling; requests considered, final schedule in 6-week increments
Qualifications:
Minimum 2 years of acute care Echo experience required ARDMS-RDS or RDCS credential and BLS certification Proficiency with pediatric echocardiography is essential Experience supporting a variety of diagnoses, including adult congenital heart disease, structural heart procedures, and pericardiocentesis Ability to perform preliminary findings and report in a modifiable format for physician review Fetal echo and stress test experience preferred (not required; candidates without this experience may be considered) Comfort orienting new hires is an asset Willingness to support a flexible call and holiday rotation as needed
Responsibilities:
Perform and document adult and pediatric echocardiograms (inpatients, outpatients, bedside cases) Support structural heart/cath lab procedures and stress tests Collaborate with cardiology team and respond to Rapid Response/Code as necessary Manage call-back situations with timely 30-minute responses (infrequent)
