Job Description
Wellstar is seeking a compassionate Sonographer to perform high-quality diagnostic ultrasound exams across inpatient and outpatient settings. In this role, you will collaborate with radiologists, nurses, and providers to deliver accurate imaging that supports timely, patient-centered care. Responsibilities include preparing and positioning patients, operating ultrasound equipment, ensuring image quality, documenting findings, and maintaining safety and infection-control standards. You'll work within a collaborative, learning-focused culture with access to advanced technology, ongoing education, and career growth across our Georgia care locations. Responsibilities Perform high-quality diagnostic ultrasound examinations per physician orders and protocols. Prepare, position, and educate patients to ensure safety, comfort, and optimal imaging results. Collaborate with radiologists and clinical teams to support accurate diagnosis and timely care decisions. Operate, calibrate, and troubleshoot ultrasound equipment and related imaging systems (PACS/RIS). Evaluate images for quality, completeness, and diagnostic value, repeating studies as needed. Document procedures, findings, and patient information accurately in the electronic medical record. Adhere to infection-control, safety, and ultrasound bioeffects guidelines and regulations. Participate in continuing education, competency assessments, and quality improvement initiatives.
