About the Job At our rapidly growing practice, MCI East, we are seeking a highly skilled Vascular Sonographer to join our team! As a Vascular Sonographer, your duties will include preparing patients for scans, operating the ultrasound equipment, and working with physicians to review the vascular images. We are seeking someone who can interpret sonograms accurately, provide excellent patient care, and demonstrate acute attention to detail. You will need to understand the clinical scenario and independently adjust exams accordingly. What you'll do: Preparing and updating patients' medical records. Ensuring that the lab, examination rooms, tools, and equipment are properly sterilized and maintained. Preparing patients for ultrasound examinations. Operating and maintaining ultrasound and plethysmography equipment. Performing sonographic examinations on patients to develop vascular images. Generating analytical reports and documentation from sonogram results. Assisting physicians with reviewing and interpreting ultrasound images. Performing administrative tasks such as managing patient schedules and filing diagnostic reports. Staying up to date with the latest advancements in sonography technology and techniques. What you'll need: Registered Vascular Technologist (RVT) through American Registry of Diagnostic Medical Sonographers (ARDMS) -or- Registered Vascular Specialist (RVS) through Cardiovascular Credentialing International (CCI) is required High school diploma or equivalent. 1-2 years of working experience as a Vascular Sonographer Must be able to do vein ablations Preference to those who have both Vascular and Echo experience
BLS/ACLS
Certification and RVT certification required Strong interpersonal skills to put patients at ease and explain things in easily understandable terms Exceptional verbal and written communication skills to interact with patients and physicians Attention to detail to notice abnormalities in sonograms Hand-eye coordination to adjust the movement of the ultrasound transducer based on the images seen on the screen Technical and analytical skills to troubleshoot complex diagnostic equipment Ability to work well under pressure, sometimes in emergency situations, to get a fast diagnosis Strong teamwork to interact with the medical team Medical knowledge, including a strong understanding of anatomy, to create proper images Excellent customer service skills are required Ability to work both independently and in a team
