MedStar Health is looking for a PRN Ultrasound Technologist I. Under general supervision, performs routine and specialized sonographic procedures. Perform diagnostic ultrasound exams for patients of all ages, ensuring accurate imaging, proper equipment selection, patient identification, and adherence to scanning protocols. Provide exceptional patient care by educating and preparing patients for procedures, obtaining medical histories, documenting exams, and coordinating care with providers, patients, and families. Maintain a safe, clean, and compliant clinical environment by following infection prevention standards, performing probe disinfection, assisting with sterile procedures, and ensuring regulatory compliance. Monitor and maintain ultrasound equipment and exam room supplies, perform quality control, report equipment issues, and support efficient departmental operations. Contribute to quality improvement initiatives, support staff and student education, uphold professional and ethical standards, and ensure timely image documentation and transfer to PACS for interpretation.Qualifications:
Graduation from an accredited Ultrasound program registry eligible (Required) Associate's degree in health sciences or related field (Preferred) Prior Work Experience not requiredLicenses/Certifications:
- ARDMS
- Registered Diagnostic Medical Sonography (RDMS or AART (S) Certification within 1 Year of hire. Physics registry completed upon hire (Required)
- Required upon hire for ACR accredited sites (MSMH, MSMHC, MGSH (BR), MMMC, MGUH, MWHC): American Registry for Diagnostic Medical Sonography (ARDMS): RDMS(AB), (OB/GYN), (PS), (BR) or RVT(VT). Upon Hire (Required)
- BLS
- Basic Life Support Certification upon hire (Required) This position has a hiring range of : USD $35.68
